Filecoin Onchain Cloud: Verifiable, Developer-Owned Infrastructure
Buenos Aires, Argentina, November 18th, 2025, Chainwire
Filecoin Onchain Cloud Enables Web3 Trustless Cloud
Today, Filecoin launched Filecoin Onchain Cloud. It is a new, decentralized cloud platform that helps store data safely, retrieves it quickly, and makes payments easy with blockchain technology. Some early users include ERC-8004, Ethereum Name Service (ENS), KYVE, Monad, Safe, Akave, Storacha, Geo Podcasts, and others. This launch was announced at the DePIN Day event in Buenos Aires, hosted by Fluence.
Problems with Centralized Services
Recently, some big cloud services had problems, causing Web3 to go offline. This shows how Web3 still depends on big, central services. Filecoin Onchain Cloud gives developers a better way to build systems that don’t depend on these big companies.
Centralized systems also face new problems. AI systems make lots of data, governments tell us where it can be stored, and AI agents need new kinds of systems to work well.
A New Way to Build Reliable Cloud Services
Filecoin Onchain Cloud solves these problems by creating a cloud service that uses blockchain. It lets developers control storage, data retrieval, and payments all on the blockchain.
“Filecoin Onchain Cloud gives guarantees like verifiability, openness, and programmability to cloud services,” said Molly Mackinlay, CEO of FilOz. “With storage, retrieval, and payments all on the blockchain, Web3 apps, agents, and networks can be unstoppable. Developers deserve a cloud built on proofs, not just promises!”Filecoin Onchain Cloud is the result of years of work across the Filecoin network, bringing together storage proofs, smart contracts, and onchain payments.
Filecoin Pin
The first developer tool, Filecoin Pin, helps store data on Filecoin through simple tools. Filecoin Onchain Cloud brings key services like Warm Storage, which keeps data online, Filecoin Pay, which helps automate payments, and Filecoin Beam, which supports incentivized data retrieval. These services let developers create, manage, and earn money from their data.
Early Integrations
Some teams are already testing Filecoin Onchain Cloud:
ERC-8004 / Agent0
ERC-8004 developers use Filecoin Pin to store agent identities and metadata on the blockchain. Agent0 adds extra security by storing all agent data on Filecoin, ensuring it can’t be tampered with.
“Agent ecosystems need verifiable data,” said Marc De Rossi, creator of Agent0. “By storing data on Filecoin Onchain Cloud, we can ensure that agents interact with verified, tamper-proof data.”
Ethereum Name Service (ENS) and Safe
ENS, Safe, and Filecoin Onchain Cloud together make it easier to build and manage decentralized apps. ENS is used for naming, Safe helps manage control, and Filecoin Onchain Cloud ensures storage is verifiable.
“Using ENS for naming apps has been possible since 2018,” said Simon Schmid from ENS Labs. “Now, with Filecoin Onchain Cloud, storage and availability can be fully decentralized and properly rewarded. It’s great to see everything coming together!”
Monad
Through the Monad AI Blueprint program, developers can use Filecoin Onchain Cloud to store data for fast, self-verifying AI systems.
KYVE
KYVE uses Filecoin Onchain Cloud to store blockchain data in a decentralized way. After using Arweave, they are moving to Filecoin to store more data and sync faster.
“At KYVE, we aim to make blockchain data permanent and easy to access,” said Fabian Riewe, founder of KYVE. “With Filecoin Onchain Cloud, we can now store even more data in a decentralized way.”
Akave Cloud
Akave Cloud is using Filecoin Onchain Cloud to store data for AI, IoT, and other technologies that need safe, affordable storage.
“By combining Akave Cloud’s infrastructure with Filecoin Onchain Cloud, users get more choices for storage that’s affordable, fast, and secure,” said Stefaan Vervaet, CEO of Akave.
Storacha
Storacha’s Forge offers high-speed, verified storage that is affordable. It works with Filecoin Onchain Cloud to give users better ways to store and access data.
“Storacha Forge makes verifiable storage much cheaper,” said Alexander Kinstler, CEO of Storacha. “At just $5.99 per terabyte, it’s perfect for large AI data storage.”
Geo Podcasts
Geo Podcasts helps people find popular podcasts. By storing podcast data on Filecoin Onchain Cloud, they make sure all information is trustworthy and accessible.
“We want all of Geo’s knowledge to be open and available,” said Yaniv Tal, founder of Geo. “With Filecoin Onchain Cloud, users can trust that the data will stay safe and accessible.”
A Strong Foundation for the Future
Filecoin Onchain Cloud is just the beginning. It’s building the base for a reliable, decentralized cloud system, and with help from developers, it will grow even bigger.
“Launching Filecoin Onchain Cloud is an important step for the Filecoin network,” said Marta Belcher, President of the Filecoin Foundation. “It unlocks the ability to create a more open, resilient, and verifiable internet.”
Filecoin Onchain Cloud is live on the Filecoin testnet, with the mainnet launch scheduled for January 2026.
