Supra Offers $1M Bounty to Beat EVM Execution Engine
Zug, Switzerland, November 14th, 2025, Chainwire
Supra’s $1M Bounty Could Revolutionize EVM Scaling
Supra is a Layer-1 blockchain. It is built for Automatic DeFi. This system is also called AutoFi. Supra uses full vertical integration.
Supra announced a major update. It is expanding the SupraEVM Beta Bounty. This bounty rewards developers. It also rewards research teams.
The CEO and Co-Founder, Joshua Tobkin, has made a bold promise. He committed up to $1 million worth of his own $SUPRA tokens. This is a personal bounty.
The reward goes to any team that can build a faster EVM engine. The engine must also be correct and verifiable. It must be faster than SupraBTM. SupraBTM is the core engine of SupraEVM.
This bounty is called the SupraEVM Speed Challenge.
The personal bounty is added to another reward. The foundation already offers $40,000 USDC. That reward is based on performance.
So far, no team has beaten SupraBTM. It remains the fastest in public tests. These tests include all known EVM-parallel engines. This includes Monad, which is known for speed.
“I am betting $1 million of my own tokens,” said Joshua Tobkin. “We say Supra is the fastest.”
He added that Supra believes in transparency. Tests are done in public. If someone builds a better engine, the reward will be paid. The result will be honored.
Addressing the Core Bottleneck in Blockchain Scalability
Many parts of blockchains have improved. Consensus systems are better. Data layers are faster. Oracle systems are stronger.
But transaction execution is still slow. This limits how fast blockchains can grow.
Parallel execution in the EVM is very hard. It must also be safe and predictable. But it is needed for fast DeFi. It is needed for games. It is needed for AI agents.
SupraEVM solves this problem. It is powered by SupraBTM. SupraBTM means Block Transactional Memory.
The system plans transactions carefully. It predicts conflicts. It reduces wasted work. It schedules execution in a smart way.
Benchmark Results: Superior Performance Over Monad
SupraBTM was tested on 10,000 Ethereum blocks. These blocks came from Ethereum mainnet.
The engine was tested against Monad’s system. Monad uses a method called 2-Phase Execution. Both tests used the same hardware.
The hardware included a 16-core AMD CPU. It also had 192 GB of memory.
The results showed strong performance. SupraBTM was faster in many tests.
The results showed:
1.5 to 1.7 times higher speed than Monad
Around 4 to 7 times faster than normal EVM execution
Stable speed during heavy DeFi activity
SupraBTM does not guess results. It avoids rollbacks. It uses clear and planned scheduling. This works well with different thread setups.
Jon Jones, CBO and Co-Founder at Supra, also spoke.
“Supra was built as one full system,” he said. “Execution and infrastructure work together.”
He said the design is fast and testable. Results can be checked by anyone. This makes the system fair and open.
Challenge Guidelines and Structure
The $1 million bounty is open to developers. Research teams may also join. They must build a faster EVM engine.
The engine must meet clear rules. All work must be open source. Results must be easy to verify.
The full rules include:
Process at least 100,000 Ethereum blocks
Use normal hardware with no more than 16 CPU cores
Be at least 15% faster across different thread levels
Share results publicly for review
Release code under an open-source license
Teams can claim the reward. Or they can work with Supra.
The token reward comes from Tobkin’s personal tokens. These unlock in 2027. They vest over two years. The reward does not affect Supra’s treasury.
“This challenge targets the main EVM problem,” Tobkin said.
He explained that the goal is simple. Find the fastest engine possible. If someone builds a better one, the industry should benefit.
Developers can read full rules online. Technical documents are available. Benchmark reports comparing SupraBTM and Monad are also published.
Teams can join the SupraEVM waitlist. Early access is available here.
About Supra
Supra is the first blockchain built for Automatic DeFi. AutoFi is a system that runs by itself.
Supra also supports crypto AI Agents. These agents can act onchain. They work automatically and safely.
Supra is a vertically integrated Layer-1. It includes fast smart contracts. It includes price oracles. It includes automation tools. It also supports cross-chain messaging.
This full stack helps generate fair revenue. It reduces the need for inflation. AI agents can run DeFi tasks for users.
