Is Cardano quietly building a base for its next big move, or is it stuck in a slow grind?
ADA has spent months climbing off its lows with a steady pattern of higher lows, yet it keeps stalling when it reaches resistance.
This Cardano Price Prediction 2040 looks at what the chart, derivatives data, and fresh network news really support over the long run.
Cardano Price Today: ADA Market Snapshot
Per DefiLlama data, Cardano trades at $0.24, down 1.77% over 24 hours. Market capitalization is $8.83 billion with a fully diluted valuation of $10.58 billion, and a 24-hour volume of $872.99 million keeps trading active.
Circulating supply is 37.55 billion ADA out of a 45 billion maximum, a ratio that matters when we run the 2040 math below.
The recent range tells the story: ADA bottomed near $0.155 in late July, climbed to roughly $0.27 around 6 October, and has since pulled back.
Cardano Network Data: Staking, Governance, and Activity
According to Cardanoscan, 21.45 billion ADA is staked, about 57.1% of the circulating supply, and 5.31 billion ADA sits with DReps at 14.1%.
The network runs 2,884 registered stake pools and has confirmed more than 126.3 million transactions since genesis.
Activity jumped sharply around 8 October, with the past 15 days totaling 2.20 million transactions at an average of 146.4k per day, before cooling again.
Active addresses over 24 hours are 11.9k, chain load is light at 8.7%, the treasury holds 1.38 billion ADA, and reserves stand at 6.07 billion ADA.
The staking and governance numbers are the stronger part of this picture, while daily usage remains modest.
Cardano Open Interest: Is Leverage Cooling?
Per Coinglass data, ADA open interest peaked near $650 million in early October as the price touched the $0.27 area.
It has since eased to around $500 million while the price slid back to about $0.236.
Falling price with falling open interest means traders are closing positions instead of piling in, which reads as cautious but not panicked.
DefiLlama tracks its own figure at $657.63 million, a different measure.
Cardano News: Veridian Launch and DZ Bank Adoption
A BSCN post on X says the Cardano Foundation announced Veridian on 8 October, a spin-out company focused on digital identity.
The Foundation also tokenized shares in the company on Cardano under CIP-0113, the network's programmable token standard.
That is a real-world use case running on-chain, and it lines up with the activity spike seen that week.
A separate post from The Money Ape says ADA may be forming a double bottom and that Germany's second-largest bank, DZ Bank, has added ADA to its regulated crypto service for Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken clients.
The double bottom is the account's own read, but the bank access is the kind of distribution news that can widen the buyer base over time.
Cardano Weekly Chart Analysis
Per TradingView chart data, $ADA is building a weekly ascending channel off the 0.14461 low, with higher lows stacking along the lower boundary.
Price recently ran into the upper boundary and was rejected, which fits the 0.24758 and 0.25502 resistance cluster.
This week's candle closed at 0.23610, down 6.29% after a high of 0.25580, so ADA now sits in the lower half of the channel where earlier dips found buyers.
A weekly close above 0.25502 would be the first real sign of strength and open the door to 0.33727, with 0.51000 and 0.69216 as the larger zones above.
Weekly RSI at 49.61 sits right on the midline, so neither side has control yet. A break of the lower boundary would put 0.14461 back in play and weaken the structure.

Can ADA Hit $20 by 2040? Cardano Forecast Scenarios
The $20 question comes down to arithmetic. At $20, Cardano would carry a market cap of about $751 billion on today's circulating supply and $900 billion. on the full 45 billion supply, against $8.83 billion now. That is roughly an 85x move from $0.236.
A realistic Cardano Price Prediction 2040 therefore depends on whether the network can turn staking, governance, and tokenization into sustained demand over 14 years, not only on chart patterns.
The weekly channel supports a recovery toward 0.33727 and 0.51000 first, and anything beyond 0.69216 would need a fresh cycle high.
Our Cardano forecast scenarios are below.
Key Risks for the Cardano Price Prediction 2040
A weekly break under the channel floor would put 0.14461 back in play and damage the higher-low structure.
RSI is neutral, and the price was just rejected at the upper boundary, so momentum can fade quickly if 0.25502 keeps capping rallies.
Daily network activity is still modest, with active addresses near 11.9k, and one-week spikes in transactions do not prove lasting demand.
An 85x climb needs capital on a scale few assets ever pull in, so every long-range level here is a map, not a promise.
Expert Opinion on the Cardano Forecast
As per the analyst desk, ADA is behaving like a market that has found a floor but not yet a trend.
The desk views $20 as the outer edge of the bullish case and sees the 0.51000 to 0.69216 zone as the more grounded first test.
A weekly close above 0.25502, backed by growing on-chain use such as Veridian and wider bank access, would be the earliest sign that the Cardano forecast base case is taking shape.
Conclusion
Cardano has a clear floor at 0.14461, a rising channel, and strong staking participation, but it keeps hitting resistance near 0.25.
The $20 idea fits only a very strong bullish scenario, while the nearer path runs through 0.25502, 0.33727, and 0.51000. Any Cardano Price Prediction 2040 should be read in that light.
