Spheroid Universe (SPH)

Spheroid Universe is an interesting concept with an original take on land ownership (Spaces), they envision a future where the world is not only split up into physical plots, controlled and taxed by the governments that rule the country but also another layer of land ownership (Spaces) in the virtual world. This secondary layer instead of being on the physical plane that we are all used to, their concept incorporates entirely new spaces, visible in augmented reality (AR) through their Spheroid Universe app. 

If adopted and a critical mass of users is reached this opens up some exciting prospects for the owners of the plots. Rather than having to apply to governments for planning permission and having to abide by other rules and restrictions, owners of spaces would have full autonomy of their plot, allowing them to utilize it for advertising, selling products or even displaying a movie in a virtual movie theatre. Not to mention the ease of sale opportunities that are opened up, compared to the lengthy process of deed transfer, etc currently associated with the selling of physical land.

As for the technology to make this possible, they have done a good job at creating their demo app which is available on the App Store and Google Play. Currently, the only downside is due to the accuracy of the sensors built into the devices themselves. The app uses the built-in GPS and GYRO sensor inside the phones to create the AR experience, and unfortunately, most devices on the market are not up to the task to display the AR locations as accurately as users might hope, this can sometimes cause jumping or shifting of the AR models within the screen.
